Mr. Achenbaum has been involved as a Senior Advisor with Kerlin Capital Group since 1996. Over the course of his 36-year career on the buy and the sell sides of investment banking, he has been responsible for over 220 transactions totaling in excess of $11.8 billion.

Mr. Achenbaum began his career (on the buy side) in 1975 as an investment professional at Teachers Insurance. He later headed GE Pension Trust’s Private Placement Department. He was then recruited (to the sell side) at Smith Barney where he rose to the level of Executive Vice President and the Partner in charge of the M & A Leveraged Buyout and Private Financing Groups. After Smith Barney, Mr. Achenbaum headed Bank of America’s Equity-Linked Private Placement Group.

In 1996, Mr. Achenbaum founded his own investment banking boutique, Achenbaum Capital Partners, LLC to provide customized investment banking services to middle-market companies. In 2005, Achenbaum Capital Partners changed its name to Winston Advisors, LLC. Mr. Achenbaum and Kerlin have collaborated on more than a dozen M & A and financing assignments on the West Coast, and Mr. Achenbaum has continuously acted as a Senior Advisor to Kerlin since 1996. Mr. Achenbaum brings his considerable M&A and capital markets skills to Kerlin in his role as Senior Advisor as well as a long, trusted relationship between Messrs. Doyle and Achenbaum that dates back to when they were partners together at Smith Barney.

Mr. Achenbaum holds a B.A. in Economics from Union College and an M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago.
